Full Moon Fireside Circle (Gemini) With Moon And Mind In Brighton: Review

Are you looking for community and connection? Wellbeing events hosted by Moon and Mind in Brighton could be for you!

On a recent cold, crisp and clear Winter’s evening, I found myself sitting with seven strangers in
a circle around a fire on Brighton Beach. I have been seeking connection and community since returning to live in the city and I found just that at Moon and Mind’s Full Moon in Gemini Fireside Circle on Wednesday.

What is the Full Moon Fireside Circle hosted by Moon and Mind In Brighton about?

I found out about this nourishing circle from Moon and Mind founder Kira Palmer, whom I met
while volunteering at Stanmer Sauna Garden in Brighton and who held the circle for eight of us during this 90-minute event.

Kira, who is a positive psychology coach and tarot reader, has been holding full moon and new moon circles since 2020. Her message is “Come as you are, you are welcome.”

They take place on Wednesdays nearest to the full and new moons and the full moon one takes place on the pebbles between the West Pier pillars. The slope on the beach means we were tucked away from prying eyes.

If you’ve never sat in a circle then I can’t recommend it enough. Circles allow safe spaces for people to share what’s happening for them and to be witnessed as well as a chance to take part
in ritual. It’s really important that the circle holder creates a safe and confidential space for this
to happen and Kira’s grounded energy allowed that.

Alongside some lovely humans who mostly came solo like me, we shared and journaled then
burned a piece of paper with what we wanted to let go of, as we listened to the waves lap the
shore and huddled underneath the moon. I loved the breathing exercises offered by Kira at the
start, which helped clear my head and slow down.

The full moon is a great time to let go, release and check-in. When the new moon comes, Moon
and Mind also offer an online circle, which is a great time to set intentions. The next one is
Sagitarrius on 13th December, with tickets on a sliding scale from £5 to £15.

Moon and Mind is also offering a Winter Solstice day retreat with vision board making, yoga,
meditation, feast at Hanover Community Centre on Saturday 23rd December with early bird
tickets from £50.

If you attend a beachside fire circle, bring a journal and pen, blankets, a hot drink and
waterproofs just in case.
