Andy Macpherson is a Brighton-based blogger, amateur golfer and photographer with a passion for capturing the essence of his surroundings. Born and raised in Hove, he has spent almost his entire life exploring the streets and beaches of Brighton, always with a DLSR in hand. When he's not out taking photos or hacking his way around the golf course, Andy can often be found gorging on Pad Thai. The really special thing about Patterns is that it’s the perfect place to work and play. You can use the main space during the day from 12pm as a peaceful place to work as it’s perfect for freelancers and meetings, has the fastest wi-fi in town and delicious coffee! Or on the sunny afternoon why not enjoy a cocktail or two on the seafront terrace and enjoy some food from the grill or current pop-up vendor Finally of course it’s still the place to go to discover the best in new music, from live bands to big name DJs so you can rave the night away!
Of course the bar is still a main focus and you’ll find one of the best drinks menus in the city with a large range of local craft beers (you’ve got to try our favourite ’13 Guns’) and of course international draught favourites. If cocktails are your thing, take your pick from their seasonally curated menus featuring everything from the traditional Caprihna to their very own ‘Shrubs’ (a homemade fruit and spice based drink topped with alcohol and soda). If you’re feeling hungry then Patterns also serves up delicious food daily with treats fresh from the grill, and occasional pop up food vendors.
We were most excited to hear about the venue’s new cultural programme which is full of grown-up extra-curricular activities throughout the week for you to enjoy no matter your age! The current schedule includes a Zine Club every Wednesday, a monthly and a day-long arts festival on the last Sunday of each month, in the form of ‘Monthly Milk’ featuring a variety of workshops from pottery to weaving.
