Bake Out In Lewes: Review

Bake Out is conveniently located on Lewes High Street, just behind the Friars Walk car park. It’s the perfect place to stop off for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink when out for a day of shopping or entertainment in Lewes town centre. Bake Out also has locations in West Sussex (Lancing, Hassocks, and Southwick).

The bakery offers handmade traditional bread loaves, pastries, sausage rolls, sandwiches, bagels, cakes, and treats, all made with locally sourced ingredients. They also serve a variety of drinks, including locally roasted coffee, teas, smoothies, and juices. Bake Out has also won a number of local and national awards for the quality of its artisan breads.

On our visit, we tried the cheese and ham toastie and cheese and the tomato croissant, which was full of cheesy goodness with a flaky and buttery croissant. We sampled a variety of desserts, including the millionaire shortbread, bueno brownie, and caramel cookie, all of which were delicious! All were washed down with a refreshing smoothie, a cup of tea, and a cappuccino, which received positive responses.

The service was fantastic, with friendly and efficient staff who were more than happy to help and created a lovely environment in the shop. We highly enjoyed the visit and will return soon to try more of the delicious baked goods, as there was so much more to choose from!
