Get ready for an evening of live music and poetry at the second ‘Basics’ event in Brighton. Following a sold-out opening night, this event will be hosted at the cosy Folklore Rooms on Saturday, 13th of July, from 7:30 pm to 11 pm.
In our review of the first event, which took place back in March 2024, we said it was “an unforgettable and amazing evening.” So be ready for more of the same with a stellar line-up featuring Brighton’s finest musicians and poets at this coming event.
Come along for an unforgettable experience where talented artists will grace the stage, offering stripped-back performances. The lineup for the evening is nothing short of spectacular.
Headlining the night is the soulful Brieya May. Her powerful vocals and versatile band will take you on a journey through R&B, soul, dance, and alternative music.
Next up is BabyEleanor. Her vintage vocals and honest lyrics channel the energy of Amy Winehouse and Eryka Badu. She’ll be performing songs from her highly anticipated debut EP, “Crying Over Spilt Milk,” which explores love and mental health.
Alternative folk artist REA will perform next, and you can expect soft instrumentals from her 5-piece band complimented by her beautiful voice and confessional storytelling.
Don’t forget that this night isn’t just about music! You will get to see two poetry sets, including the witty and thought-provoking Sophie Glew.
Tickets for this event are priced at £11 plus the booking fee, and availability is limited. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the raw talent of the finest artists in Brighton as they perform live music and poetry. Please note this is an 18+ event.
