Bogan Bingo At Komedia: Review

When you think about a night at the bingo, perhaps tequila shots and Christmas-flavoured condoms aren’t that high up on the list. But at Bogan Bingo, that’s exactly what’s on the agenda. Expect thumping basslines, bad language and more Fosters than you can shake a bingo card at.

The Venue

Komedia is an integral part of Brighton’s entertainment scene, and made the perfect venue for Bogan Bingo. Its basement area is kitted out with cosy booths, cabaret-style tables as well as longer, banquet-style seating for larger groups. It also boasts a pretty well-stocked bar with cocktails, shots, and draught beer and ciders; especially popular were the epic four-pint jugs of beer! Also on offer is a range of bar snacks, hot food and desserts, ranging from tater-tots drizzled in harissa mayo, and loaded fries, to classic or vegan nachos and salt-and-pepper squid. The basement area itself was softly and colourfully lit, creating a party vibe for the many groups celebrating the festive season.

And would they win the Bogan Bingo meets Rick Astley dustpan and brush? Or perhaps even the coveted Bogan Bingo cereal dispenser?? But those of us who didn’t win still enjoyed the ride, quacking enthusiastically at “two little ducks – 22” and quickly picking up the ruder chants taught us by our hosts “24, your Mum’s a…”

The Verdict

While getting rickrolled by a dustpan and brush wasn’t on my bingo card for 2025, I would be more than happy to find myself sweeping up another round or two of Bogan Bingo. It was silly, bubbly, bawdy fun and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
