The Brighton Half Marathon is back for 2026 and is offering fun, community and more. The race will take place on March, 1, 2026 at Hove Lawns. The course is for experienced runners, charity runners and those who are just looking to participate in their first marathon.

The event is owned by The Sussex Beacon, which is a local charity, and is organised by Laine8 Events.

what to expect at brighton half marathon 2026

Tickets are currently available to book on the Brighton Half Marathon website. For general registration, standard entry tickets are priced from £44.50 to £46.50. There is a £2.50 booking fee and the ticket is open to participants aged 17 and over.

If you do purchase a general entry ticket, you can opt to fundraise for a cause important to you. The Brighton Half Marathon website has a list of charity partners available for you to choose from.

There is no fixed fundraising amount and all donations, no matter how much, are welcomed. Simply get in touch with the charity you want to fundraise and they will offer guidance on how you can help.

The race will take place at 9.30am across the seafront and will pass exciting landmarks such as the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier, West Pier and the Brighton Marina. The Sussex Beacon Charity entry is priced at £30. Those who purchase these tickets are required to raise £200 for Team Beacon excluding Gift Aid.

The Grassroots Suicide Prevention Charity entry is priced at £35 and requires you to raise £200 for Grassroots. Both the Alzheimer’s Society Charity Entry and the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity entry are priced at £35 and require you to raise £200 for their respected charities.

Accessibility

The race will take place in Brighton and there are many transportation services available to get you to the city of Brighton and Hove.

There is a direct rail link from London, the Eurostar service at St Pancreas and the major ports of Dover, Portsmouth, Southampton and Newhaven. Be sure to plan ahead for traffic, if you are travelling by car.

There is an exciting selection of merchandise available on the Brighton Half Marathon website in preparation for the 2026 race.

On the Brighton Half Marathon website, you are also able to show financial support by offering a donation. Your donation will help transform lives and the funds will be used to support the services The Sussex Beacon provides for men, women and families affected by HIV.

Facilities and support provided during the half marathon

On the marathon route, there will be a range of support available to assist you with your run. You will find people at water stations ready to cheer you on as they provide you with a refreshing bottle of water to keep you going.

There are porta loos on site and plenty of spectators and entertainment to keep you motivated. Starting at Hove Lawns, the race generally has good views of the sea, creating the perfect backdrop to a marathon run.

For children under 17 who are looking to take part in the races, there are youth races taking place on Feburary 28, 2026. If you would like to volunteer at the Altra Brighton Half Marathon, you can register on their website, allowing you to enter the marathon free of charge.

As a volunteer you will stage the event in the community, assisting in preparation and support on the day.
