Brighton Pride Parade: In Pictures

Watching the Brighton Pride Parade brought up mixed feelings for me. Pride is a joyful and defiant celebration of love and identity. It is hard to hold the question; while so many people around the world are facing war and suffering, is there space for joy?

I stood in the crowd, surrounded by the beautiful colour, music, and movement, and I felt the depth of what Pride truly represents. Behind the glitter and flags are generations of pain: tears shed, lives lost, people silenced or excluded. There is fear, grief, and a long history mixed into the celebration.

Pride is more than a party – it’s a powerful reminder that we are humans with rights. The revolution begins with believing in who we truly are. If we want real change, we must start with building strong foundations of self-awareness, conviction, and coherence, so we can stand with others and speak our truth clearly.

The parade was a call to action. People of all ages backgrounds, cultures and faiths stood side by side to honour difference and demand safety – the safety to exist, to express, and to say unapologetically: “This is me”.

The world beyond the parade – war, injustice, and inequality – continues. But Pride reminds us every voice matters. Out loud and in full colour, with love, justice, and dignity.

To workplaces: This parade is a powerful reminder of what it means to create truly inclusive environments. Your ability to act with coherence, aligning your values with your actions, is what helps make workplaces safer for everyone.

To the communities: You’ve done incredible work, and it’s far from over. I hope for more justice, more visibility, and stronger protections for all. Thank you.
