Tucked away on Barcombe Road, BurgaBliss is the sort of neighbourhood spot that feels like it was always meant to exist. The story behind it is very Brighton: family-run, community-minded, and built on a mix of instinct, nostalgia and a bit of entrepreneurial courage.
Kin and Charlie, the brother-and-sister duo behind BurgaBliss, grew up just around the corner.

They already owned the property next door to what is now BurgaBliss, and having lived just down the road for most of their lives, they’ve watched the neighbouring unit go through several chapters – first as a busy fish and chip shop loved by locals, then later as a short-lived gourmet burger bar. One that never quite found its footing. After it closed, the shop sat empty for years, and it was during that quiet stretch that the idea for BurgaBliss really began to form. When you’ve lived in the area your whole life, an abandoned shop isn’t just an empty space; it’s potential. And Kin, already juggling the responsibilities of the family’s property further down Barcombe Road, couldn’t help but wonder what it could become.
Things To Do In Brighton This December
At first, he toyed with reviving the shop as a fish and chip shop. But a bigger question hung in the air: what does this part of Brighton actually want? With two university campuses nearby and hundreds of students living within walking distance, the answer soon became obvious. A proper, freshly made burger bar – nothing pretentious, nothing frozen, just good food done well.
After months of planning and a leap of faith, BurgaBliss opened its doors in May 2025, and the locals haven’t stopped talking about it since. Students, especially, have made it their own. Late-night burgers? Brighton culture practically demands it. With a 15% student discount available with a valid student ID, the students love it.

When we visited, Charlie greeted us with the kind of warmth that instantly sets the tone for the whole experience. She was balancing orders, chatting with regulars, and still managing to make us feel welcome. Inside, the music was buzzing and Kin was behind the grill himself, stepping in as head chef for the day. Watching him work, it was clear he’s not just running a business – he’s crafting something he’s proud of.
We tried three of their heavy hitters: the Brisket Smash, the Sticks ’n’ Smash, and the Chick Fil A Stack. Each one delivered. All their beef is certified halal and made fresh, never frozen, which you can taste immediately – the patties are juicy, deeply seasoned and full of flavour. Kin makes all the seasoning blends in-house too, something he talked about with genuine pride.

Alongside the burgers, we also tucked into their Chicken Dripped Delight loaded fries – and they’re exactly what late-night cravings dream of. Priced at £5.75, the portion is generous to say the least. Freshly cut chips come piled high with tender chicken, crispy onions, and that signature Chick Fil A sauce drizzled over the top. Every bite had that perfect mix of crunch and sauce, and it’s one of those dishes where halfway through you realise you’ve already decided to order it again next time. For the price, you more than get your money’s worth.
We also ended up trying the jerk chicken wings, and honestly, they were a bit of a revelation. They arrived still sizzling, coated in a thick, glossy jerk sauce that clung to the skin without making them soggy. The outside stayed crisp, which is impressive considering how much sauce they use, and the chicken inside was fresh, tender, piping hot, and full of flavour.
In fact, that theme runs through the whole menu. Portions are big, everything’s fresh, and you leave full but somehow still tempted to try “just one more thing” on your next visit.
Prices for the burgers range from £7.75 to £10.50, with the option to upgrade to a meal or a deluxe meal (the milkshakes are absolutely worth it). With deliveries being available through Deliveroo.
BurgaBliss is everything a neighbourhood food spot should be: welcoming, well-run, and full of heart. If you’re anywhere near Barcombe Road and craving a burger made with real care and fresh ingredients, this is the place to go.
