The October half-term holidays are coming up and you may be looking for some family activities that you can do here in Brighton with the kids. In this guide, we will highlight various activities you can enjoy with the whole family in the city.

Brighton Dome is presenting a pre historic science gig for those of all ages. There will be three performances between Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, 2025. The gig will last one hour and child tickets are priced at £10. Adult tickets are priced at £17.50 and family tickets are priced at £50.

Sneak peaks are available on the Brighton Dome website. You won’t want to miss the catchy songs and awe-inspiring science.

This October half term, Brighton and Hove Museums is presenting a spooky side. There will be a variety of activities and events for all ages. Expect a Pumpkin Patch at Preston Manor from October 18 to 31.

Families can experience picking their own pumpkins, a spooky mystery trail, marshmallow toasting and craft workshops. On October 25, expect a behind the scenes peek at their Victorian museum and some scary surprises.

On October 29, there will be a ghost tour at Preston Manor. Experience stories of ghosts and paranormal activity that are age appropriate for 13 to 16 year olds. There will also be a day of holiday crafting on October 31 for 5 to 13 year olds.

Theatre Royal Brighton will bring a real live version of Percy Jackson The Lightening Thief to Brighton. Shows will take place from September 30 to October 4 and will last one hour.

Tickets are priced at £15 and are available to book on the Theatre Royal Brighton website. Do not miss on an action packed, family friendly musical based on the Percy Jackson book.

On November 6, Theatre Royal is presenting a special play for young individuals called The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Prices will start from £13 and will provide a truly entertaining afternoon with the kids. The play will bring the classic children’s book live on stage and will take place at 1pm.

The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink will return to Brighton this winter 2025. The ice rink is a fun, memorable activity that you can enjoy with your family. With the Royal Pavilion Palace as a backdrop, the 800 square meter rink has numerous space for skaters per session.

Each skating session is for one hour and there is a family discount ticket available for two children under 12 accompanied by two adults. Alternatively, the family discount is also available to three children under 12 accompanied by one adult.

If you have never skated before or are perhaps a little bit wobbly on the ice, ice skating lessons are available as well as penguin aids and bob skates.
