For one night only on Friday, August 1, the club will swap traditional stand-up for something altogether more twisted, glittering and spectacular. Enter the Komedia Kabarett Club: a riotous celebration of drag, burlesque, clowning and circus, all hosted by the incomparable Joe Black.

Renowned for his dark cabaret flair and theatrical style, Joe Black promises a gloriously camp and chaotic start to your Pride weekend. If you’ve ever wanted your comedy served with a shot of glamour and a twist of the bizarre, this is the show for you.

Brighton Pride: A History

The night’s lineup features a dazzling array of alternative cabaret stars:

Diamanda Callas, the Parisian drag-queer sensation known for her opera-trained vocals, cartoon glamour and wicked wit.

Ella the Great as her acclaimed drag king persona Richard Melanin the Third, a nostalgic, moustachioed circus showman with a knack for laughter and spectacle.

Felicity Furore, one of the UK’s top burlesque artists, blending classic tease with pop culture and cheeky satire.

Ryan Yeomans, a jaw-dropping circus artist whose performances combine hand balancing and contortion – including the ultra-rare Marinelli Bend.

Expect the unexpected – and maybe even a bit of kidnapping. Joe Black has already ‘abducted’ Komedia programmer Sam Moore in a cheeky promo video to claim his rightful place as the evening’s host (watch it here).

Joe Black is no stranger to Komedia, regularly fronting the beloved Kleines Kabarett and touring his brand of musical mischief across the globe, from Brighton to Broadway. With his velvet voice, razor-sharp humour and penchant for the peculiar, he’s the perfect guide for this journey into the deliciously deviant.
