Amy, Co-Director of Lavrak, Tells We Love Brighton About Re/SISTA Cabaret.
Following it’s sell-out three-night run at Shambala festival 2024, we cannot wait to bring Re/SISTA to Brighton Fringe.
Who is your show for?
Anyone ages 12+ who want to see femme artists reclaim their narratives and rewrite the rules.
Why should people come and see it?
You’ll be in the very safe hands of our wonderful compere, who’ll build a welcoming atmosphere so we are a circus tent full of mates. Then we’ll bring you some of the most skilled circus artists in the UK; full of sexy femme power.
*Warning; you may leave feeling all lovely and fuzzy. We cannot be held responsible for any post-show calls and texts to loved ones telling them just how much you love them.
Annie-Marie Williams, former Brighton Open Air Theatre Manager said ‘In a world full of monochrome toxicity, Re/Sista is the antidote! A spicy blend of positive role models, ultra-joyful messaging and exceptional circus skills. Re/Sista is the sweet spot between entertainment and an uplifting manifesto for life.’.. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves!

Have you performed at the Fringe before?
No, this is our first time at Brighton Fringe, and we are so excited!
What do you love about Brighton Fringe?
While we’ve not performed at Brighton Fringe before, we always come to watch our circus and cabaret friends. We love how much the audiences get involved, so if you are coming to our show, we love a loud audience!
What do you love about Brighton?
The sea, the people and the amazing arts scene! Brighton- you lot are so friendly and stylish. I always wear my most colourful outfits when I’m in Brighton.
Are there any other shows you are excited to see?
So many! ‘Not Yours Cabaret’; their tag line is ‘part theatre, part party, part riot’ – if that doesn’t make you want to go and see it, I don’t know what will! The whole programme at the Circus Yard is really exciting – I think we’ll be hanging out there for the whole of May. See ya there!
Re/SISTA Cabaret takes place at Big Puck at The Circus Yard on May 17 and 18 at 6.30pm.
Tickets: Brighton Fringe
Venue: Big Puck, The Circus Yard, The Level
