Brighton Aquarium was designed by Eugenius Birch, the architect responsible for the West Pier. The work began in 1869 and the aquarium opened in 1872, making Sea Life Brighton the oldest continually operating aquarium in the world. It’s beautifully restored Victorian Arcade makes it a must-visit spot for residents and visitors looking for a fun day out. You can even get the chance to touch a native ray and shark eggs at their Rockpools.

Sea Life is perfect for animal-lovers, offering rays, jellyfish, turtles, sharks and more. If you try out their glass bottom boat, you’ll be able to admire the ocean creatures beneath your feet. It is priced at £25 for groups of up to 6 and is truly an exciting experience. Sea Life also offers a Sharks After Dark session, where you can enjoy a private, after-hours guided tour, as well as a Keys to the Aquarium early-hours VIP tour. For just £6, you can try out Sea Life virtual reality and get transported straight to the depths of the ocean.

Take a break from the sea and step into Sea Life’s Rainforest Adventure. In their hot, humid rainforest, you will find scorpions, reptiles, tortoises and more. If you’re brave, step into Bug Boulevard and walk among tarantulas, snails and other creepy crawlies.

Professor Finn’s Easter Egg Hunt

This Easter, Sea Life is hosting an exciting underwater adventure for all the family. Embark on a fascinating activity trail to discover various species of shark eggs hidden throughout the aquarium.

Each egg along the trail will reveal a hidden letter and you need to find all six letters to spell out a secret word. Once you discover the word, you will receive a special Easter reward to take home. Along the way, you’ll also have the chance to meet the many sharks at Sea Life. The Sharks Easter Egg Hunt will take place between April 5 and April 27 and is included in your standard Sea Life admission ticket.

Sea Life is a cashless attraction and booking in advance can get you the best deals. Adult standard tickets start from £15, allowing you to reschedule for free up to 24 hours prior to arrival if your plans change. For the anytime entry ticket, prices start at £24.50, offering more flexibility. Sea Life also offers an adult and toddler package, for kids aged 5 and under, at £15. Students can save 21%, with tickets priced at £15 if you have a valid student ID card.

On the first Sunday of every month, Sea Life runs Quiet at the Aquarium sessions, one hour ahead of opening. These sessions provide a quieter experience for those with autism and other neurodiverse conditions. Sessions are from 9am to 10am and priced at £19.50 per adult.
