The Best Bars And Clubs For Students In Brighton

Every year, loads of students descend on Brighton to study at university. We use ‘study’ in the loosest sense of the word because while that is the primary goal, there are some great bars and clubs to visit, and they have become popular destinations with students for them to spend that all-important student loan.

Fountain Head

We’re actually going to kick off our list with Fountain Head, which is a bar that promotes having a chilled time. And the way they go about it is that the bar is relaxed, but there are board games and the like available to play. Every week quizzes take place and retro gaming nights, and this increase in young audiences is reflected in players registering at online bingo sites, according to Gala Bingo, which is another way for students to pass the time away from Fountain Head and other bars.

Hobgoblin

If you ask students past and present about the best student bars, Hobgoblin is right up there. And it’s not just the general public saying that, as this is an award-winning venue we’re talking about. Cheap on Mondays, and with live DJs and some excellent food on offer, you could say it’s the perfect place to visit as a student in Brighton. It may not be the most upmarket bar, but it has everything you need, which counts for a lot.

Green Door Store

Sometimes one of the most enjoyable experiences as a student is getting stuck into a sweaty gig. And the Green Door Store, located beneath Brighton Train Station, is the home of sweaty gigs. One of the best nights to visit Green Door Store is for its iconic It Is Still 1985 gigs. What you get at the Green Door Store as a venue is a place that has everything, from nights to service, down to a tee, so a good time is always guaranteed.

Revenge

Brighton is famed for its LGBTQ+ scene, so there are naturally some excellent clubs to visit that are inclusive and welcoming to all. Revenge is one of the best offerings in the scene, but it’s worth noting that a lot of bars are right up there in terms of quality. You’re naturally looking for what sets one bar or club apart from the rest, and it’s the rooftop bar at Revenge that makes this a must-visit venue.

Chalk

Live music continues to be a hugely popular attraction wherever you go, and this is especially the case in Brighton. Chalk, which people may know formerly know as The Haunt, is a great live music venue because it covers all genres and tastes. So, it doesn’t matter if you’re into dance or indie or something completely different; you will find a gig that’s for you at Chalk. And we’ll let you in on a secret; they offer some fantastic deals on drinks on themed nights.

Andy Macpherson

Andy Macpherson is a Brighton-based blogger, amateur golfer and photographer with a passion for capturing the essence of his surroundings. Born and raised in Hove, he has spent almost his entire life exploring the streets and beaches of Brighton, always with a DLSR in hand. When he's not out taking photos or hacking his way around the golf course, Andy can often be found gorging on Pad Thai. As a self-proclaimed foodie, Andy is always on the lookout for new restaurants and dishes to try, which is the main reason behind why he loves reviewing food places for the site.
