The Fudge Patch Has Opened In Brighton’s Bond Street. We Love Brighton’s Stephi Prieto Went Along to The Opening
The story behind The Fudge Patch is a truly inspiring tale. It shows how passion and graft can make your dreams a reality. At 15, Patch Hyde, the brains behind the operation, started working making fudge. Although he later studied acting and worked as an actor, nothing could overcome his love of fudge. For 20 years, he honed his skills, experimenting and creating these amazing flavours, finally setting up shop in London at 7 Greenwich Market.
It was a birthday party for his sister in Brighton that gave him the idea to bring his creations here. It seemed a bit crazy at first, but things fell into place, and he opened in Brighton’s bustling 42 Bond Street.

On Thursday, 3rd April, my daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting The Fudge Patch, which had its grand opening that very day. It’s more than just a fudge shop, it’s a sweet dream come true. The place was buzzing with free samples of their incredible range and it was a real treat for the taste buds, especially to share with my lovely date.

From the moment we walked in, it was a warm and welcoming vibe. The Fudge Patch team, all smiles, showed everyone the different flavours. The taste explosion was something else; we tried delights like Vanilla Coconut, Sherbet Lemon (seriously, a proper palate pleaser), Chocolate Orange, Fudge Caramel, cherry and Almond, and loads more. Each taster was a symphony of sweet and texture, way beyond expectations. And to top it off, it’s all vegan and gluten-free, which is a testament to their innovation and quality ingredients. My daughter was well chuffed with the variety and that it was all animal-free.

It wasn’t just about the freebies either. They were kind enough to show us the whole fudge-making process. It was fascinating watching the ingredients come together, a real transformation. You could tell they put their heart into it, and this showed in the taste.
The shop itself was a fresh and airy space , a nod to cult films and graffiti art. The sweet aroma of freshly made fudge was irresistible. My little one was raving about how lovely it smelled.
All in all, our visit to Fudge Patch was a memorable experience. The fantastic flavours, the friendly staff, and seeing how it’s all made was brilliant. I’d highly recommend any sweet tooth to give Fudge Patch a go and experience their vegan fudge magic. They’re definitely a cut above the rest, and sharing it with my daughter made it even better. We’ll be back for a box, cheers!
