Visit the world’s oldest aquarium at Brighton Sea Life and discover the creatures of the sea. From rays, jellyfish, turtles and sharks there’s so much to see and enjoy. There are numerous activities you can try, such as their glass-bottomed boat that showcases the habitats beneath you.

Check out their Rainforest Adventure section, featuring leaping frogs and reptiles. If you’re brave, step into Bug Boulevard and check out all the creepy crawlies. Children under 2 can enter for free and Sea Life offers an online package for adults and toddlers, aged 5 and under, priced at £15.

The City Sightseeing Bus Tour consists of 12 bus stops, allowing you to discover Brighton’s top attractions, such as the West Pier remains, Regency Square, the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Marina and more. Tickets for kids aged 5 to 15 are £8 for one day and £11 for two days. Adult tickets are £14.

No pre-booking is needed for City Sightseeing Brighton’s hop-on, hop-off service, and contactless payments are accepted on board. Tickets can also be purchased on the Brighton and Hove Buses App. During the Easter weekend, (April 18 to 21), City Sightseeing Tours will operate up to every 30 minutes.

Visit Brighton Pier and enjoy all the attractions with your kids. Brighton Palace Pier has a package priced at £40 for children, offering unlimited rides with a ride wristband, meal vouchers, soft play and sideshow, plus x100 tickets available to redeem in the arcades prize shop.

The pier itself has free entry and is open every day, with numerous rides available. From bouncy castles, turbo coasters, trampolines and carousels, there’s something for everyone.

Take a guided tour inside the Royal Pavilion and discover the history behind the Chinese-inspired pleasure palace of King George IV. Every Saturday, until April 26, an expert guide is giving out tours of the palace, from 2pm.

Komedia

Take your kids to see a show at Brighton Komedia. Numerous kids shows are available, such as puppet shows, comedy workshops, On Your Bike Buffo and more. Book Story Magic so you and your kids can enjoy music, movement and story telling fun for children 9 months to 4 years old.

Each 40 minute session will explore a children’s story and include original songs, classic nursery rhymes, games and puppets. Food and drink is also available, making this venue the perfect spot for a family day out.

The Painting pottery Café

Take your kids to the Painting Pottery Café and try their Kids Taster Throwing session. Kids 8 to 12 years old can try throwing on a potter’s wheel in the cafe’s cosy pottery studio. Tutors will do a demonstration on the wheel, talking your child through the steps of throwing a pot or small bowl, then children will get the chance to make their own piece.

Sessions are up until May 27, between 11am to 12pm and 2pm to 3pm. There are several options available: a standard session with a clear white pot is priced at £20, and for the option to paint your pot, the session is £25. The Painting Pottery Café offers a small selection of hot and cold drinks, as well as cakes. Book now on their website.

Walk through the lanes

Check out the numerous twisting alleyways in the Lanes, filled with a variety of shops, including fishmongers, grocers, and artisan workshops. Visit Paxton+Glew Contemporary Art Gallery, located in the Lanes, and admire the beautiful artwork based on seasons and current trends. The gallery hosts regular exhibitions and creative workshops that the whole family can enjoy.

The Sweet Williams Fudge Shop, in the Lanes, will surely impress the kids, offering homemade fudge in flavours like Eton mess and lemon cheesecake. Stroll past the various antique stores, cafes and more, for a laid-back day out with the family.

volks electric railway

Get transported to the Victorian Era on board Volk’s electric railway. Travel the mile-long beachfront line and take in the scenic coastline. Volk’s railway is the oldest working electric railway and is located right on the beach without the need to book.

Child single tickets are priced at £3.30 and returns are £4.20, for children aged 5 to 15. The family single package, for 2 adults and 2 children, is priced at £12.70, with a return at £17.30. Tickets can be purchased at the Aquarium and Black Rock Stations.

Between April 28 to May 2, there will a discount for Brighton residents, where adult return tickets will be priced at £5 and child return tickets at £3.40. Proof of address is required on entry and only postcodes BN1, BN2, BN3 and BN41 are valid.
