Wild Flor | Best Restaurants In Brighton – Review

Wild Flor has won multiple awards since it opened in Hove in 2019. Most recently, it was named one of the top 20 best restaurants in Brighton in the BRAVOs 2025, where it also came first for Best Wine List.

We had to see if they lived up to the hype, so we visited on a quiet, rainy Tuesday evening.

Where do we begin? Upon entering the venue, we stepped through a gorgeous velvet curtain into the main dining area on the ground floor, and instantly felt warm and cosy. With a slight rustic feel, low, soft lighting, hand-drawn artwork on the walls, and handwritten blackboards, it was a lovely setting.

The big black chalkboards featured lists of Wild Flor’s incredible suppliers – from their fruit and veg producers to their meat suppliers – along with details of special events happening that month, including the highly sought-after Sunday Lunch Club.

Once we were seated by the friendly staff in a tucked-away little corner of the restaurant, we instantly felt relaxed and ready to eat.

We pondered the menu, as well as the seasonal set menu, and we were blown away by the choice. While deciding, we enjoyed a daiquiri and a margarita, which were expertly crafted and went down a treat.

Eventually, we decided on freshly baked sourdough and butter to start, followed by the Braised Chicken with baby gem, peas, and butterbeans from the set menu – fairly priced at two courses for £22 or three for £25. We also ordered the Bavette with spinach and Café de Paris butter from the main menu.

The mains arrived and we knew we were in for a treat. The chicken melted perfectly in the mouth, and paired with the buttery beans and creamy sauce, it delivered an explosion of flavours.

The Bavette? Unbelievable. The Café de Paris butter was rich and punchy, and the steak was tender, falling apart with every bite.

To finish, my friend and I shared the (vegan!) Key Lime Pie. It was light, fluffy, and the perfect treat to round off this amazing meal.

If you’re looking for somewhere for date night, a catch-up with an old friend, or to celebrate a special occasion, Wild Flor is the place. Reasonably priced, incredibly friendly staff, and even better food – we couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
