Reigning Women season has returned at The Old Market (TOM) in Hove. Reigning Women is a vibrant festival celebrating exceptional female and gender-expansive artists. Running until May 2025, the festival will feature a diverse range of performances across music, theatre, dance, and spoken word.
The season kicked off with VIVID: A Reigning Women Celebration on 6 March, an electrifying evening of music and spoken word headlined by local rappers Bobbie Johnson and Phonetic.

Other upcoming highlights include Sh!t Theatre: Or What’s Left Of Us (2 to 3 April), a unique true crime show about folk music and grief, and I Am – OommoO (5 to 6 April), a groundbreaking performance using high-tech storytelling tools like MiMu gloves to create an immersive experience.
The season also includes M-Othering (30 to 31 May), a dynamic dance piece featuring women and girls of all ages blending physicality with humor and emotion.
Helen Jewell, Creative Director of The Old Market, said: “Reigning Women has become a cornerstone of our annual programming, providing a platform for both established and emerging artists. We’re thrilled to share these performances that challenge the status quo with our community.”
