University of Brighton

Two Ways to Join: On-Campus or Online

University of Brighton offers two types of summer schools to suit your needs:

On-Campus Residential Summer Schools

Applications now closed for 2025

Spend an exciting week on campus, staying overnight in university halls, attending hands-on subject taster sessions, and enjoying fun social activities with other students. You’ll be supported by current University of Brighton undergraduates who know exactly what it’s like to take those first steps into university life.

These residential summer schools are especially welcoming for students from widening participation backgrounds, with train travel costs covered where eligible.

By the end of the week, you’ll have built new friendships, explored your academic interests, and developed a real sense of what moving to university could feel like.

Online Summer Schools

Applications open now – running 22–25 July 2025

Can’t travel to Brighton? You can still get a rich and inspiring experience online. During this four-day programme, you’ll join daily live interactive sessions and access engaging on-demand content, all designed to give you insight into your subject area and a flavour of university learning.

All you need is a laptop or computer and a curious mind. You’ll work on a subject-specific project—whether that’s an essay, a poster, or a creative design—and receive individual feedback from our team.

And the best part? The online summer school is completely free to attend.

“I had the chance to deeply explore a project that I found both engaging and fulfilling related to a course I enjoyed. Overall, this experience was highly educational and personally rewarding.”
— Angelika, Psychology, Criminology & Sociology Online Summer School 2024
