Join in on the celebration of Celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at Wahaca in Brighton until November 12th, 2024. This Mexican tradition honors loved ones who have passed away, focusing on remembrance and joy.
Until mid-November, the venue will be decorated with traditional papel picado, Mexican calacas, which are life-size skeletal figurines that have been handcrafted for Wahaca by talented artisans from Oaxaca, and feature specially created altars reflecting the traditional Mexican ofrendas.
If you plan to visit with children, they’ll be able to create and take home their own Catrina figurine as part of the Calaca crafting activities.
With the celebration of the Day of the Dead at Wahaca also comes a brand new menu featuring specialties like Roasted Riverford Organic Squash with mole and salsa macha and Smoky Caramelised Pork Belly with tamarind sauce. They even have a Beet Tartare with crispy tortillas, beetroot, and avocado cream on offer for any vegan diners planning a visit.
To top things off, there is a limited-edition cocktail on offer. Catrina’s Chocolate Orange Margarita offers a decadent blend of melted chocolate and Gran Centenario Reposado tequila and is served with a slice of chocolate orange, which you can dip in the cocktail.
