Fancy a New York-style slice of pizza? Grind and Slice in Brighton is the place to be! This cafe bar is a friendly and comfortable establishment at the bottom of Trafalgar Street serving up sandwiches, pizza, and baked treats.
The name Grind and Slice comes from the freshly ground, locally roasted coffee beans and the owner, Mahdi’s signature NY pizza served by the slice (available in both Margherita and pepperoni) to my knowledge this is the only place in central Brighton where you can get the experience of an authentic thin base, cheesy, and satisfying NY slice made fresh daily.
With plenty of seating inside, Grind and Slice is a lovely place to unwind with a hot drink and some good food while out in the Laines. The interior is relaxing and a great place to cosy up and watch the world go by outside the window.
The walls and furnishings are adorned with vibrant colourful paintings and crafts from local artists which is a nice touch and makes Grind and Slice feel like part of the Brighton community.
Mahdi first opened the cafe in October 2023 and although the business is still young, he has big plans. Starting next week (4th March) every Monday and Tuesday, Grind and Slice will be serving all-you-can-eat falafel sure to fill the bellies of hungry passers-by.
As well as delicious NY-style pizza, Grind and Slice also offer hearty toasties, deep-pan pizza slices, cheesecakes and baked goods. Drinks include perfectly brewed hot and iced coffees and frappes all made by Mahdi who is always welcoming and happy to chat.
With plenty of vegan options, bags of atmosphere, and student and NHS discounts, Grind and Slice is a must-try! Grind and Slice is open from 8:30 am – 6 pm from Monday to Saturday and 11 am – 5 pm on Sunday. Dogs are also welcome.
