Izzie Derry is a folk-rock singer from Coventry who moved to Brighton in 2017. She will be hosting an album launch party for her debut album “Til We Reach The Sun” at the Unitarian Church in Brighton on the 3rd of November at 7 pm. The supporting act for this event will be Jacko Hooper
Izzie is often described as ‘the love child of Laura Marling and Alanis Morissette’ and her music is inspired by artists from the 60’s and 70’s. It therefore comes as no surprise that her debut album is influenced by artists including Fiona Apple as well as Laura Marling, and Alanis Morissette and explores life as a young woman in today’s world.
Her most recognisable shows include supporting John Grant at Coventry Cathedral for the Terry Hall Homegrown Sessions and supporting Olly Murs at Resorts World Arena. She has also performed on BBC Radio 6 and at Sofar Sounds events in Newcastle, Coventry and Brighton. She currently has over 16,000 streams on Spotify.
To add a unique touch to the performance, illustrator Chris Riddle will be creating live drawings of each song performed throughout the night. You can also expect some vegan cake – what more could you want!
