Komedia Comedy Club is one of Brighton’s best independent comedy venues. In an age where we are bombarded with one-time laughs on our screens, this is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the classic world of comedy. I had the privilege of attending one of the comedy nights in January 2025.
Located in The Lanes, the venue is a colourful and inviting place, with its design taking inspiration from traditional cinemas. The neon lighting gives it a retro feel and makes the experience fun!
The comedy shows are held in the basement of Komedia, which has a dark-lit feel, taking you away from the outside world. The chairs are comfortable, and you can sit around a table with whoever is joining you on the day.
Food and drinks are also available and these can be brought to your table. The bar is around the corner so you can grab a ‘bevvy’ at any point during the night.

The show featured some of the best independent comedy that Brighton has to offer with a mix of traditional stand-up comedy and some with the use of props—if you attend a future one, you’re guaranteed to have a good laugh!
Tickets for comedy events at Komedia start at around £15 for concession holders and are cheaper if you buy the tickets in advance. They also offer a ‘meal deal’ ticket, which allows entry and a main meal, or a ‘drink ticket,’ which allows entry and the choice of a 175ml glass of house wine or a pint of draught beer.
