Brighton is more than just its iconic pier and lively atmosphere; it’s a haven for seekers of tranquillity. Whether you’re a Zen-seeking novice or a seasoned master of mindfulness, our city offers many places where you can find your inner peace. Here is our ultimate list with everything from beaches to libraries!
Brighton and Hove Beach
Kickstart your day by being the first one on the stunning Brighton beach. As the sun rises, find your perfect spot to sit comfortably and dive into your morning meditation ritual. Just remember to bring something soft to sit on (pebbles can make things a lot less relaxing).
As many of you Brightonians will already know, the further you go east or west from the central beach, it only gets quieter. During the day, you will usually find a more peaceful environment the closer you move towards Kemptown or at the end of Hove promenade.
If you want to meet new people, join the ultimate Brighton Beach meditation experience. This free event takes place occasionally, and the meeting location is in front of the West Pier, opposite i360. Let the soothing sounds of the sea guide you into a state of profound relaxation. The event runs from 11:30 am to 12 pm.

St Ann’s Well Gardens
St Ann’s Well Gardens in Hove is a true oasis of tranquillity and the perfect place for tree and wildlife lovers. Wander through lush trees and enjoy the sounds of birds and rustling leaves as you find a quiet corner to meditate.
There’s no need to download a meditation soundtrack; the gardens were made famous by the invigorating natural spring (supposedly one of the finest in Europe), which will be enough to put your mind at peace.
Diamond Heart Meditation classes organised by Dao Yogi also take place at St. Anne’s Wells Gardens. This unique meditation experience will captivate your senses and open your heart with the help of gentle guidance from Dao Yogi’s expert instructors.

Queens Park
This lush green park provides the perfect setting for those seeking a moment of respite from their fast-paced lives. You can find a comfortable spot on the grass or a quiet bench with ease. Queen’s Park is a testament to Brighton’s commitment to preserving its natural landscape.
The well-maintained gardens showcase blooming flowers, ornamental shrubs, and towering trees, offering a visual treat while you try to find peace. One of the park’s highlights is the Queen’s Park Clock Tower, an iconic Victorian structure that stands tall as a historical landmark.
Every Saturday morning from 10 am to 11:15 am, you can join a yoga class in the park. Led by the experienced and passionate yoga instructor, Tammy, whose dedication to promoting holistic wellness and her love for the serene surroundings of Queen’s Park make these sessions truly special.
Tammy’s outdoor yoga sessions cater to all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Following the yoga practice, participants are gently guided into a blissful meditation session.

St Bartholomew’s Brighton
There’s nothing quite like a church to immerse yourself in the ambience of peace and calm. You don’t need to be religious to appreciate the serenity that churches offer. The beautiful paintings and impressive architecture (with the highest naves in Europe) create the perfect backdrop for self-reflection.
Churches, much like libraries, instill a sense of serenity that immediately lowers blood pressure and helps promote feelings of contemplation. Churches hold years of history that have this mystical impact on us that is difficult to neglect. Meditating in such an environment is a great way to unwind or simply to try something new and different.
