Planet India

Planet India is a refreshingly different Indian restaurant offering Gujarati influenced Indian food in Brighton. The menu is entirely vegetarian with plenty of vegan friendly and gluten free options. Most aficionados pride themselves on knowing the selection off by heart and everyone’s got at least one dish they can’t resist ordering every time. For the lentil lovers there are even two types of dal. 

Planet India really do have street food snacks nailed with their starter menu featuring, amongst others, ketchoris (little balls of magic stuffed with spiced coconut and peas), pani puri (crisp shells that you fill with chickpea mash, top with flavourings and pop whole into your mouth), and the celebrated dahi bhel puri (a zingy salad prepared with fresh tomato and onion, crispy puri, tamarind sauce, and heaps of fresh coriander).

Their takeaway menu has a range of starters, mains, bread and chutney on offer. Starters include things like Onion Bhaji and Samosas. Mains are served with cumin rice and include a range of curries with spicy and mild meals to choose from. Transporting you straight to the streets of Mumbai, Planet India offers indian food for the travelling soul. 

With its bright pink exterior the restaurant is unmissable and offers a modest but charming surrounding within. They have inside tables as well as outside terrace for dining during hot summer days. At Planet India you’ll find a mix of modern furnishings with Indian-inspired artwork. The restaurant can accommodate both small and large groups, making it suitable for intimate dinners or gatherings with friends and family.

Open from 6pm-9:30pm from Tuesday to Saturday. To enjoy their Indian cuisines you can dine in, order delivery or get click and collect. Delivery is available within a 1.5km radius with a charge of £3, with food delivered within 1h30.

A unique feature offered by the restaurant is that for groups of 10+ people, you are able to pre-order dishes on their website with the option to change parts of the order on the night.
