Boho Gelato In Brighton: Review

Now this is one of those Brighton institutions most of us have at least heard of. Boho Gelato…

Home to gelato in all those weird and wonderful flavours, my friend and I knew there would be some quirky ones on offer before we even stepped inside the little shop in Pool Valley. Now, that might have been an underestimation—on both the “quirky” and “wonderful”!

We made it our mission to taste as many flavours as we could, especially the seasonal ones that have been recently crafted. Handcrafted, of course, as all their gelato is.

Flavours worth trying at boho gelato

From the Roasted Carrots (sweet, toasty, delicious) to King Edward (creamy, subtle, absolutely lovely, and yes, made with potato!) to Miso CandyCorn (with actual toasted corn on top; sweet, slightly tangy with a perfect crunch), (Vegan) Sweet Potato (sweet and creamy, beautifully light), and more.

As a Finn, my personal favourite out of their repertoire has to be the Licorice Ripple which, luckily for me, is not seasonal! Other more permanent flavours of theirs include After Dinner Mint (decadent, deep, chocolatey), Peanut Butter Brownie (I mean c’mon), and Pure Milk (nostalgic, creamy, subtle, underrated). For sorbet lovers, the options are amazing too… Mango is on my radar for next time!

In addition to incredible, fun flavours, the inclusivity of their menu was awesome to see. There are options for dairy lovers as well as our vegan friends.

Customer service at Boho Gelato is next-level; it really is that down-to-earth, local business that you want to return to time and time again.

Why Is it worth visiting?

The best part is, not only can you sit down for a scoop or two (or three, or four…) you can also buy big tubs to take home with you for the whole family to share! That is if you make it home with the full thing!

The thing about seasonal flavours is that they are not around forever. At We Love Brighton, we recommend you get yourself and your friends down to this Brighton gem; it’s never a bad time for a sweet treat and a cuppa by the seaside.

Roosa Herranen

From the moment she arrived in Brighton, Roosa knew this was the place to be. Her love of arts and culture, seaside living and inclusivity meant the city felt like home. When she’s not walking around town and admiring the sights, and the waves and the quirky little shops, she’s writing and creating. Originally being from Finland, there are things about Brighton & Hove that still surprise her - in the best possible way of course! After ten years in England and five of those in Brighton, she couldn’t imagine living anywhere else than here.
