Ella attended Foodies Festival on the Monday. Here’s a review of the Saturday.
The Foodies Festival was held in Preston Park, Brighton from May 3 to 5. The festival as a whole is a great place for a day trip to take your family for some live music and amusement rides for the children, or food lovers who want to watch well-known chefs from cooking shows, such as MasterChef and Great British Bake Off, and taste test various food from the food trucks scattered around the festival.
During the Bank Holiday weekend the festival-goers were able to watch live cooking demos from some of the top chefs in the UK. MasterChef Professionals 2020 Champion, Alex Webb, and 2021 Champion, Tom Rhodes, attended and cooked for a live audience, as well as many other chefs and bakers in the Chefs Theatre and Cake and Desserts Theatre.

The festival offered a Kids Cookery School where children could be taught by professionals in a hands-on way. There was also a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, amusement rides, and a silent disco. There was an axe-throwing stall and a chili-eating contest. The main focus of the festival was the international street food vendors. There was also an Artisan Market and Shopping Village. And if you were looking for a beverage to sip on for sitting in the sunshine, there was a drinks theatre that sold cocktails, there were also wine tastings and mixology sessions.
The weekend offered a range of entertainment, such as live music acts that you could listen to all around the field, with local bands, tribute acts, and choirs, as well as the main headliners for the weekend, Pixie Lott, Scouting For Girls, and The Wanted 2.0. There was a fire stage that had live BBQ demonstrations, and a silent disco.
The Foodies Festival Brighton was vibrant and very family-friendly. It was a celebration of food, music, and community with something to offer for everyone of all ages and interests in the
family or group. It was the perfect way to spend the bank holiday weekend, with everything from celebrity chef demos to live music. If you missed it this year, it is definitely an event to look out for next year.
