Brighton & Hove Albion’s reward for defeating Manchester United in the third round of the 2025/26 FA Cup is another tricky test at Liverpool.
The Seagulls defied the odds to triumph at Old Trafford and will be desperate to emerge victorious from their round four tie on February 14.
The best betting sites in the UK on comparison platform bettingtop10.com/gb/ rate Brighton as 14/1 shots to win the FA Cup this season. Those odds would vanish if Brighton reach the fifth round.
With that in mind, read on as we look at the latest betting and fourth round draw, before assessing Brighton’s chances of progressing.

FA Cup 2025/26 – Brighton are Capable of Toppling Liverpool
Manager Fabian Hurzeler praised the togetherness of his squad following their victory over Man United and he will hope for a similar performance at Anfield.
Goals from Brajan Gruda and Danny Welbeck helped a much-changed Brighton team claim a 2-1 victory, which is testament to the depth of the squad.
“The players who came in deserved to play and they showed what they are capable of doing,” Hurzeler told the club’s official website.
“We have shown a great deal of togetherness and I think it’s good to know that there are always players who can come in and make a difference. We will need everyone and for the players who came in it was an opportunity and they did really good.”
“We have ambitions in the FA Cup, but it’s do-or-die. We will have to be at our highest level whoever we play in the next round. Let’s see how far we can go.
“We always have the belief to compete with the best teams. You need to have this if you want to achieve something and we are a club with ambition.”
Brighton suffered a 2-0 defeat on their most recent visit to Liverpool in the Premier League and will be desperate to gain revenge in their next encounter.
The Seagulls have subsequently lost just one of their next seven matches in all competitions and will fancy their chances of toppling the Reds.
Arne Slot’s side have been underwhelming for much of the season, although they are in contention to qualify for the Champions League.
They defeated Barnsley 4-1 to reach this stage of the competition, but made heavy weather of edging past their lower-ranked opponents.
Their ongoing involvement in the Champions League this season could be a factor in determining the strength of the side Slot is able to select in the FA Cup.
Liverpool are not guaranteed to progress automatically to the knockout stage, and could potentially face a play-off tie in Europe a few days after facing Brighton.
Slot would be forced to rotate his squad against the Seagulls in that scenario, which could scupper their hopes of staying in the domestic competition.
While Brighton will head to Anfield as the underdogs, they are undoubtedly capable of securing a place in the fifth round.
