After a fantastic start to the season away at Everton The Seagulls will now be turning their attention to their next game at home against Manchester United and of course, bolstering key areas of the squad they feel need improving during the last few weeks of the summer transfer window. The market can sometimes be hard to read but having access to the internet lets us indulge in football predictions from all over the world, which is essential when predicting results and of course looking into current transfer speculation.
Albion Closing In On Monster Signing
One such piece of transfer speculation has been making waves in the Turkish Media this evening as it has been heavily rumoured that Brighton is finally getting close to closing a deal for Ferdi Kadıoğlu. The Seagulls have been heavily linked with the twenty-four-year-old Turkish left-back and have been chasing him all summer, and it looks like they may finally be close to getting one of their top targets.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has provided an update on Brighton’s efforts to sign Kadıoğlu, indicating that the Seagulls have made “significant progress” in their negotiations. Reports suggest that Brighton has already agreed on personal terms with the player, and Kadıoğlu and his representatives are keen on finalising the move to the Premier League. I personally think he would be a wonderful addition to the side and would provide some much-needed competition in that position although if he continues the form he has shown in Turkey he will probably lock that position in the starting eleven down and start most games.
Earlier this summer, Brighton reportedly submitted a €35 million offer for the Turkey international. However, Fenerbahce has been holding off on making a decision, especially after reports emerged of Manchester United’s interest in the player last week (hopefully we sign him before we play them so he can do a job on the Red Devils). Despite this delay due to Manchester United’s attempt to hijack the deal, it appears that Brighton is pushing for a resolution, with the club reportedly seeking an answer from Fenerbahce by the end of this week. Hopefully, we get a positive outcome as he would be a fine addition to the squad and would really help the team push for bigger things this season.
What’s Up Next?
Up next as we mentioned is Manchester United’s visit to The Amex this Saturday. It will be the early kick-off (12.30) so possibly an accumulator buster for those of you who like a flutter like myself, but I feel United are still finding their feet and although I feel they were good enough for the three points against Fulham at Old Trafford, I can’t see Brighton losing this game. A draw of course is possible but if I had to nail my flag to the mast I would say The Seagulls take the 3 points in a 3-1 win.
We will have more news to bring you soon, especially as things develop in the transfer market.
