Summer Shakespeare Workshops 2023

If your child’s interests lean towards the classics and the timeless works of William Shakespeare, then the Summer Shakespeare Workshop is the perfect opportunity for them. With a string of successful Shakespearean productions in previous years, this year’s play will be none other than the renowned tragedy “Hamlet.”

Running from 14th August to 20th August, the Summer Shakespeare Workshop caters to young people aged 8-19. The workshop will take place at two locations: The Church of the Good Shepherd and Brighton Open Air Theatre, offering participants a chance to experience both traditional and outdoor theatre settings.

This workshop distinguishes itself by working with two casts of 15 talented individuals, each under the guidance of dedicated directors. Both casts will collaborate on the same script, presenting unique perspectives and interpretations of the classic play.

In just one week of rehearsals, the young performers will bring to life an hour-long version of “Hamlet” that promises to captivate audiences and make parents proud through a blend of silliness and Shakespearean brilliance. The performances will take place during two different show times.

Address: The Church of the Good Shepherd, 272 Dyke Rd, Brighton and Hove, BN1 5AE AND Brighton Open Air Theatre, Dyke Rd, Brighton and Hove, BN3 6EH
