Terre A Terre

Terre à Terre was born in 1993 out of a shared passion of two people with a mission, Amanda Powley and Philip Taylor. Classically trained as chefs and having cooked throughout the world, they wanted a platform for their innovative ideas where they could push the boundaries of traditional cuisine while adhering to their beliefs in meat-free cooking.

Eating at Terre à Terre will stimulate your mind as well as your taste buds, and we believe it will change the way you view vegetarian cuisine forever. Enjoy high-quality vegetarian and vegan meals. Their dishes are wonderful, and it’s no wonder they’ve been awarded for being the best vegetarian restaurant in the UK and ranked among the top 50 vegan restaurants in the world by The Financial Times in 2023!

When you have a look at the menu, you’ll quickly realise that this is no ordinary restaurant. Terre à Terre goes above and beyond to cater to all dietary needs, offering gluten-free options alongside their impressive array of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Hungry for lunch or dinner? Terre à Terre has got you covered! Their doors are open daily, except on Mondays and Tuesdays during lunchtime. Lunch is served from 12-3pm or 5pm, depending on the day, while dinner is typically available from either 5pm or 6pm.

The Michelin-approved establishment prides itself on sustainability and the creation of truly flavoursome dishes, using a blend of global influences and locally sourced ingredients. Their menus on offer include A La Carte, Terre a Verre, Pudding, Afternoon Tea, and the Little Terrors.

Prepare to be spoilt for choice when you explore their enticing menus. The à la carte menu features a selection of nibbles, starters, tapas, mains, salads, and sides. Craving something sweet? The pudding menu offers a tempting array of desserts, including treats like churros and house-made ice cream and sorbets.

Don’t miss their afternoon tea! Served from 12-3 pm on Wednesdays through Fridays and from 3-5pm on Sundays, for just £29, you can enjoy a savoury plate and a three-tier afternoon tea accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. And if you’re feeling fancy, why not upgrade to the Fizz version for £39? After all, their afternoon teas were awarded in the 2022 Bravo Awards, making it the ultimate spot to enjoy an afternoon tea.

If you’re coming with children, make sure to ask for the Little Terrors menu, which offers meals like spaghetti and potato rosti or something simpler like chips. They also have organic baby food, which you can request free of charge.

In terms of drinks, they offer a wide selection of beverages to accompany your meal. Whether you prefer a glass of their finest organic wine or a refreshing beer or soft drink, Terre à Terre has something for everyone.

On their website, you can also find a shop section where they sell seasonal gifts and hampers, sweet treats, pickles, and jams, among other things.
