The Nest Comedy Club at Komedia, Brighton: Review

Located in the vibrant streets of Brighton’s North Laines is Komedia, a live entertainment venue, showcasing a range of diverse and incredible entertainment and comedy acts. Every third Sunday of the month, Komedia in Brighton welcomes The Nest Comedy Club.

The Nest Comedy Club features the top comedy acts from Edinburgh Fringe, established comedy TV stars, and emerging talent. Additionally, it is organised by the acclaimed comedy production company, Berk’s Nest.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend one of their shows, and I felt a mix of nerves and excitement for my first comedy night. Yet, the night proved to be a hilarious and memorable experience, leaving my cheeks aching from smiling.

As I entered the venue, I was met with an intimate, dimly lit setting with vibrant, blue spotlights illuminating the stage and a crowd buzzing with anticipation. The lineup for the evening consisted of well-known acts such as Michael Odewale and Jen Brister as well as rising stars.

One of the highlights of the evening was the headliner, Odewale. His personal anecdotes and dating experiences had the audience laughing uncontrollably. Another standout act was Brister, who had the audience in stitches as she shared her difficulties with ageing and interacted with the crowd.

The enjoyment continued with the other acts, Erika Ehler and Freya Mallard, and the host, Ania Magliano. Ehler and Mallard delivered shocking but hilarious jokes. While Magliano engaged with the audience, creating a light-hearted and welcoming atmosphere.

Aside from the comedy, Komedia offered a variety of drinks and snack options to enjoy during the event, served by friendly and attentive staff.

Overall, my night at the Nest Comedy Club at Komedia in Brighton was incredibly entertaining and unforgettable. With a new lineup each month and tickets from just £8, the Nest Comedy Club at Komedia is a great and affordable choice for comedy lovers or those new to the scene and will leave your cheeks sore from laughing.
