Veggie burgers no longer equate to a slimy mushroom slapped unceremoniously betwixt a bun; there is a huge choice of meat-free burger options in Brighton for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores fancying something a bit different.
From bean burgers and vegetable patties, halloumi to falafel burgers there’s something to suit every taste whether you’re looking for a pub lunch, sit-down dinner or a takeaway on the move. Here is our pick of the top vegetarian and vegan burgers Brighton has to offer.
Burger Brothers
Join the hype at Burger Brothers, the sensational burger place that has taken the Brighton burger scene by storm since 2013. Prepare to be amazed by their irresistible flavours. And if that’s not enough to convince you, they were awarded the title of Britain’s Best Burger in 2017, followed by a gold award for being the best burger joint in Brighton in 2018.
In the heart of North Road, you’ll find this tiny takeaway restaurant. The “brothers” (best friends) who run this place make their passion for their craft evident in every bite. You can taste the care and attention they pour into each and every burger they serve.
Made with love, vegetarians can choose from four options. Their signature Veggie Special features a homemade patty topped with smoked cheese and caramelized onions, or you can opt for the Vegan Special with a vegan patty, vegan mayo, vegan bun, vegan cheese, roasted peppers, wild rocket, caramelized onions, and salsa.
For a delightful twist, try the “Hello Me” halloumi burger, featuring a medley of flavours with Portobello mushroom, caramelized onion, and creamy Cajun sauce. And we can’t forget their “Favourite Burger,” a tantalizing combination of creamy goat’s cheese, roasted peppers, honey mustard, secret sauce, caramelized onions, and creamy Cajun sauce. Are you drooling yet?
But wait, there’s more! The challah bread buns they use are no ordinary buns. With their light, fluffy, and semi-sweet taste, they elevate the burger experience to new heights working perfectly with the fillings. And if you’re brave, go ahead and order your burger with a spicy kick. Just be warned, they don’t hold back on the heat!
