Since launching their sourdough donuts in 2014, Crosstown has been perfecting the craft of creating luxury donuts with unique textures and delicious flavour combinations.

As well as making cracking donuts to enjoy in-store, Crosstown also have a delivery service and loyalty scheme through their ordering app. Their donuts by post service allows you to buy donuts online and receive a fully curated box delivered either straight to your door or ready for collection.

Their Brighton cafe is conveniently located in the North Laines, seating is limited but if you’re able to grab a pew it’s a relaxing spot to recharge with a tonka bean donut and a coffee! Their coffee beans are provided by Caravan Coffee Roasters, a London-based roastery which is celebrated for its exceptional, ethically sourced speciality coffee with a rich aroma.

Glazed

Famous in Brighton for its maximalist vegan donut experiments, Glazed is a regular go-to and recommendation for donut cravings. Grab a seat in their cosy café – opposite The Level Park, relax amongst plant life and displays of local artist’s works, and say hi to Donald the donut dog!

Their ever-changing selection of donuts means there’s always something new to try. If you get to Glazed bright and early you may be able to grab a still-hot treat, as Glazed fry their donuts fresh every morning.

Regular favourites such as Biscoff, Notella, and Strawberry Coconut donuts are always available, but their specials are always innovative and adventurous; notable past creations include Peanut butter and (vegan) bacon, Espresso and walnut, and even Donut burgers! For any donut lover, Glazed is a must-try!

Brighton Palace Pier Hot Donuts

Of course, we couldn’t create a list of Brighton donut spots without including the iconic hot donuts served up on the pier. These piping-hot sugar and/or cinnamon-coated donuts are an iconic sight and smell of my – and I’m sure many others’ – childhood in Brighton.

There’s nothing quite like walking along the pier or the beachfront while holding a bag full of donuts and trying to eat them before they’re cooled enough for comfortable consumption and at the same time hiding from the prowling eyes of nearby seagulls.

Available at the entrance of, and along the pier, these donuts come coated with sugar and with an optional chocolate dipping sauce. Perfect for quick energy before a heated air hockey tournament with your friends in the arcade!

Down to Earth Cafe

Nestled in Kensington Gardens, opposite the White Rabbit pub, is Down to Earth Coffee & Bakery. Upon entry, you’re greeted by an array of delicious and tantalising baked goods and a view of their pastry chefs rolling out fresh dough and working on tasty treats.

Their vegan donuts are delicious and very generously sized, and – for anybody (like me) looking to live out the ‘Don Homer’ Simpsons scene – Down to Earth makes a ‘Homer Donut’ complete with bright pink frosting and topped with sprinkles!

The bakery does not have any seating but the location of Down to Earth makes it a perfect spot to grab a coffee and pastry on the go while musing down the Laines.
