This bar, situated right next to Brighton seafront, is speakeasy-inspired and is a fantastic place for anyone who wants something a little different from their night out. The Bootlegger’s 1920s-inspired interior is cosy and atmospheric, and the perfect place for enjoying one of their wonderful cocktails.

Mrs Fitzherberts

Mrs Fitzherberts is a unique, fantastic pub that truly has something to please everyone. They have two suntrap terraces, one at the front of the building and one upstairs, a cocktail lounge, and always great vibes. Their Sunday roasts are renowned for being some of the best in Brighton and they offer a range of delicious food during the rest of the week from midday every day.

Alongside their great range of beers, wines, and spirits, Mrs Fitzherberts also has a cocktail menu that includes classics such as the Espresso Martini, as well as the refreshing in-house creation Mango Smash. What’s more, you can get two of the same cocktails for £12 from 12 pm-close Sunday-Thursday, and from 12-9 pm Friday & Saturday.

This lovely pub is located right next to the Dome and Brighton Theatre, making it the perfect spot for some pre-show drinks without spending too much money. Whatever the occasion, you can be sure of a good time at Mrs Fitzherberts.

The Mesmerist

The Mesmerist is one of the most popular bars in Brighton. Found only seconds away from the seafront, it has four different bars inside, including a 70s-inspired cocktail lounge and a roof terrace, and hosts live music and DJs multiple times every week.

Their Happy Hour is also perhaps one of the best in Brighton. Not only do they offer 2 for £12 on selected cocktails (including their delicious Salted Caramel Espresso Martini), but they also have deals on other types of drinks for anyone who doesn’t fancy a cocktail.

Shuffle Bar

This wonderful little cocktail bar is well and truly unlike any other. With a huge catalogue of songs to choose from, customers are able to choose whatever music they want from their own phones. However, this isn’t the only reason for Shuffle’s infamy in the Brighton bar scene.

They have an enormous cocktail menu, plus impressive deals on them for every day that they’re open. Monday-Thursday you can get 2 for 1 cocktails open til close, on Friday all of their cocktails are £6.20 all day, and on Saturday this price is available between 5-7 pm. Shuffle Bar offers wonderful cocktails for a great price at almost all times, making it one of the best bars in the city to visit on a budget.

R-Bar

R-Bar is part of Revenge, Brighton’s biggest gay venue, and has considerable notoriety in the wider gay community. This lively and friendly gay bar has recently undergone a refurb, and its bright and open interior is the perfect place to enjoy some drinks whether you’re an LGBTQ+ person after a safe space and a sense of community, or an Ally looking to show your support.

They host regular drag shows and karaoke, as well as quizzes, and later on, they open up the ground floor into a dance space, so you’ll always have something to keep you entertained no matter when you visit.

What’s more, every single one of their drinks is 50% off, 7 days a week, 5-8 pm. R-Bar also does 2 for £12 cocktails in that time, so no matter what you’re after, you can save money on your drinks and still have a night to remember.

The Village

The Village is a cosy local pub and café in the heart of Hanover that has something for every occasion. They have a famous brunch menu inspired by Algerian and Mexican cuisine, meaning you can enjoy all of your favourite dishes with a fresh and tasty twist on them.

Another hidden gem, the Argyle Arms’ 2021 refurb has given it a much-loved status amongst locals, students, and tourists alike and after one visit, it will be clear why. With friendly staff, a resident dog, and a cosy country pub vibe, this wonderful little pub also has a great range of drinks at affordable prices.

On Tuesday-Thursday you can get pints from as little as £4.50, a medium house wine for £4.50, a house spirit and mixer from £3.50, and 2 of the same cocktails from £12. However, if you’re a student, these deals are available open-close, every day of the week. These phenomenal drinks deals give the Argyle Arms one of the best Happy Hours in the city and are not to be missed.
