Luna Wave Yoga – Yin Yoga: Review

The Luna Wave studio is located on the first floor Eastern terrace of the new Sea Lanes complex by the seafront in Brighton. A wonderfully calming and relaxed setting, the studio’s bifold glass doors face towards the sea for a lovely view.

Luna Wave is very well equipped, with all yoga items such as blankets, eye pillows, yoga blocks, bolster pillows and mats already set up upon arrival – meaning all you need to bring is yourself! They even supply glasses of water and a delicious cup of mint tea before the session.

The studio is a fantastic space, which is both airy yet comfortably warm, as the sun shines in the glass doors along the front of the space. Additionally, the staff were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable right away.

The Session At Luna wave

I attended a Yin Yoga session, it was my first time attending yoga of this type, though I have practised other variations for years. It was a tranquil experience that I felt fully able to immerse myself in as the teacher gently guided us through the practice.

In Yin, we spent up to five minutes in some stretches which gave us time to be mindful and concentrate on our breathing, whilst letting go of any stresses or intrusive thoughts. The best part of the session was the relaxing meditation at the end, which I didn’t want to end!

The soft soundscapes played were helpful in allowing us to go inward and focus on being present. See more here about the Luna Wave approach to yoga which combines light, sound and scent to allow you to drift into a mindful and nourishing meditative state during your practice.

Final Thoughts

I left the session feeling refreshed and relaxed within; I would highly recommend attending yoga here. Luna Wave offers a variety of workshops and classes including Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha and more types of yoga.

The offerings are suitable for beginners or seasoned yogis and the key on the timetable tells you which sessions are most suited to a variety of levels and experience. You can even try unlimited classes for two weeks at £20, so why not give it a go?
