How Best to Enjoy Euro 2024 in Brighton

The countdown to Euro 2024 is on. With just a few months left before the opening games get underway in Germany, the excitement is building. Of course, there is the small matter of club competitions to put to bed first with the race for the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League all hotting up.

Just as we saw for the tournament in 2021, betting markets for this year’s competition are going to be in high demand. Leading bookmakers that serve football fans in Brighton and beyond have already begun offering Euro 2024 odds on both the group matches and futures markets like the group winner and outright tournament winner. England fans will be glad to know that the home side is currently the favourite to win, with odds of 7/2, with France and Germany very close behind.

Of course, being the favourite does not guarantee victory in a competition like the European Championship. However, it does help to demonstrate that a team has the key ingredients for success.

In 2024, England has a record of good runs in tournaments, including the 2018 World Cup, Euro 2020, and the Qatar World Cup in 2022. The team has one of the strongest squads in its history, with plenty of depth rather than a thin veneer of talent, as well as demonstrably strong management.

So with the Three Lions having such a good shot at victory again in this year’s tournament, you’re probably wondering where the best places to watch Euro 2024 in Brighton will be. Well, wonder no longer as here’s the lowdown on all the top spots in the town.

The Big Screen

While there are no confirmed plans just yet, we expect Brighton Marina to host its Big Screen again in 2024. The Big Screen is exactly what the name suggests, a large display that is used to show a wide array of sporting events and other media.

In 2022, the Big Screen was in situ from June to July, showing cricket, rugby, golf, movies, and Formula 1, while in previous years, it’s also been used to broadcast World Cup games.

Be sure to look out for more details when they are released to learn when Brighton Marina intends to air Euro 2024 games. Of course, while you’re there, the Marina is one of the top places to go shopping, so you can enjoy some retail therapy while you’re there.

On the Beach

Brighton Marina’s Big Screen is not the only opportunity for outdoor watching. The Luna Cinema is a regular visitor to Brighton’s beach and has hosted events for viewing World Cup and Euro games, as well as other sporting events like Wimbledon and Formula 1.

Like Brighton Marina, however, it’s too early for The Luna Cinema to release its schedule, so keep an eye out on the company’s What’s On page to check out what games will be showing and when.

The Font

If you don’t want to risk Mother Nature getting a chance to interrupt your enjoyment of World Cup games, then an indoor venue might be more up your street. There are plenty of great options around Brighton but The Font is definitely one of the best.

This unique venue was previously used as a church but has been serving delicious food and drinks to the people of Brighton since 1988. The Font shows live sport year-round, using its giant screens that are located throughout this beautiful facility. It is already advertising its Euro 2024 offering, so you’ll want to book now to avoid missing out.

Walkabout

Walkabout describes itself as the “home of live sport in Brighton” but it’s a bold claim that it can back up. With giant HD screens and several other big displays perfectly positioned around the venue, Walkabout has you covered, no matter where you find yourself sitting or standing.

You won’t be left to watch on an empty stomach, though. Walkabout’s Bonza Burgers are some of the best in Brighton. Choose between beef, chicken, or soya and then customise every single element to make your perfect patty.

If burgers aren’t your thing, Walkabout also has a range of sharing dishes, wings, and desserts that are bound to get your taste buds tingling.

Andy Macpherson

Andy Macpherson is a Brighton-based blogger, amateur golfer and photographer with a passion for capturing the essence of his surroundings. Born and raised in Hove, he has spent almost his entire life exploring the streets and beaches of Brighton, always with a DLSR in hand. When he's not out taking photos or hacking his way around the golf course, Andy can often be found gorging on Pad Thai. As a self-proclaimed foodie, Andy is always on the lookout for new restaurants and dishes to try, which is the main reason behind why he loves reviewing food places for the site.
